I was in a group show called "REVOLUTIONS: Artists Who Rocked the World of Music Industry Graphics" at the Forest Lawn Museum, curated by Joan Adan. The show had a glitzy opening with Michele Shocked & her band. Later, Joan asked if I would do the poster celebrating the Centennial of the Forest Lawn Memorial Parks established in 1906 in Glendale, CA. The year 1906 made me think of the Arts & Crafts Movement. I was also inspired by the exquisite poster work in that vein of David Lance Goines. Even if it was about a cemetery, I wanted it to feel like a comfortable piece of furniture. One of my best, I think.
