"THE ROLLING STONES" AMERICAN TOUR - 1969
$50.00
I created this poster in September 1969 for Alan Klein, the Stones’ manager. It was based on one of Muybridge’s “Figures in Motion” against an Islamic motif. The box at the bottom contains the entire venue list. Mick Jagger commented that he thought it “looks like me in drag --- I quite fancy drag, you know.” This was the tour that ended in the notorious Hell’s Angels incident at Altamont in 1970. This poster is pretty much forgotten &, for some reason, was not included in The Art of Rock, alas. The Giclée Signed Edition has venues in the bottom box 17x22 $50 • Signed & Numbered. The ORIGINAL 1969 Poster: $150 signed.
NOTE: The Original Poster 1969 14x22 $150 • Signed & dated 1969 • $150 • if interested in original poster contact me about this.
